Smartphone manufacturers advance mobile video technology
New developments in smartphone hardware are focusing on enhancing mobile videography for social media and professional creators.
HONOR has officially announced the HONOR Robot Phone, which features a motorized robotic camera arm integrated into the chassis. Developed with over 100 patents and in collaboration with German camera manufacturer ARRI, the device includes a titanium agile gimbal with four degrees of freedom. This mechanism allows for 360-degree rotation and various filming modes, such as AI SpinShot, to provide stabilized shots without a tripod.
Other major manufacturers are also optimizing their flagship models for vertical video. The iPhone 17 Pro offers high consistency across its three 48-megapixel modules for 4K filming. The Google Pixel 10 utilizes its Tensor G5 chip to enhance low-light video through software processing, while the Nothing Phone (3) features 50-megapixel sensors designed for high brightness in indoor settings.
