Lancia Gamma unveiled as strategic model for Stellantis Melfi plant

Stellantis has officially presented the new Lancia Gamma at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy in Rome. The vehicle is a strategic project for the brand's revival and for the Italian automotive sector, as it was designed in Turin, developed in Italy, and will be produced at the Stellantis plant in Melfi.

Built on the STLA Medium platform, the Gamma is a mid-size SUV/crossover that will be available in hybrid and electric versions. The hybrid model is expected to offer over 1,000 km of total range, while electric versions could reach approximately 740 km. The project involves roughly 30 Italian suppliers, reinforcing the industrial ecosystem in the Basilicata region.

During the presentation, Stellantis executives and Italian officials emphasized the importance of the 'Made in Europe' concept. Emanuele Cappellano, COO of Enlarged Europe for Stellantis, called for clearer regulatory frameworks from the European Union to ensure competitiveness and support for local production and supply chains.
