SMSEM to bring beneficiary designation updates to 14 regions
The Teachers Union of the State of Mexico (SMSEM) will launch a regional tour starting August 19 to facilitate the update or initial processing of the 'Carta Testamentaria' (Beneficiary Designation Letter). Under the direction of General Secretary Jenaro Martínez Reyes, the initiative aims to allow affiliated teachers to designate beneficiaries for the Retirement and Death Fund, providing legal certainty for their families.
The service will begin at the new Union Unit Building in Santa Cruz Atzcapotzaltongo, offering permanent service Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00. Additionally, the union will bring the process to 14 regional locations, including Texcoco, Chalco, Ixtapaluca, Tianguistenco, Zumpango, Ecatepec, Ixtapan de la Sal, Naucalpan, Valle de Bravo, Jilotepec, Atlacomulco, and Tejupilco.
To complete the procedure, teachers must present a valid official ID and their most recent pay stub (comprobante de percepciones y deducciones). If beneficiaries are adults, a copy of their official ID is required; for minors, a valid ISSEMyM credential copy is necessary.
