Snoop Dogg biopic slated for August 6, 2027 theatrical release
Universal Pictures announced that the biographical film titled “Snoop,” chronicling the life of rapper Calvin "Snoop Dogg" Broadus, will open in cinemas on August 6, 2027. The R‑rated picture is directed by Craig Brewer and stars Jonathan Daviss, known for the series “Outer Banks,” as Snoop. Production partners include Snoop Dogg himself, Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment and Sara Ramaker, president of Death Row Pictures, marking the first film released under Universal’s overall deal with Death Row. The film is described as the definitive biopic of the artist, mogul and gangsta‑rap icon and will feature music from Snoop’s extensive catalog. Development of the project began publicly in 2022, and filming is slated to begin in summer 2026.
