SNS 24 app introduces online medical exam scheduling in Portugal

The SNS 24 mobile application in Portugal has been updated with a new feature that allows users to request the scheduling of medical exams directly through their smartphones. This update is part of a broader strategy to digitalize public health services.

To use the new functionality, users must ensure they have the latest version of the app installed. The process involves navigating to the ‘Receitas e Exames’ (Prescriptions and Exams) section, selecting an active exam requisition, and choosing the ‘Pedir agendamento de exame’ (Request exam scheduling) option. Users can then select a preferred location for the exam and will receive a confirmation via email.

In addition to exam scheduling, the app continues to offer various health management tools, such as viewing medical prescriptions, checking vaccination records, accessing pregnancy certificates, and monitoring who has viewed personal health information.
