SNS activist alleges political violence and voter bribery in Serbia

Momčilo Marjanović, a long-time activist for the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), has provided testimony regarding the organization of political violence and voter bribery in Serbia. In an interview with BIRN, Marjanović detailed how groups of men were hired to protect party interests, provoke incidents with police, and infiltrate student protests to cause chaos.

Marjanović stated that he led these groups to high-risk areas, including Pionirski Park (referred to as ‘Ćacilend’) during major protests in March 2025. He claimed that approximately 100 individuals were seen carrying revolvers in the park. He also described receiving cash payments for these activities, alleging that instructions and funds were provided by Nenad Barac, the director of the public utility company JKP Novosadska Toplana.

Regarding electoral interference, Marjanović testified to the existence of vote-buying schemes, claiming that individuals were paid to ensure specific voters went to the polls, with rates reportedly ranging from 100 to 500 euros per vote. Barac has declined to comment on the allegations regarding the use of company premises for party business.
