Political unrest and misconduct allegations in Serbia

Overview

Political activity in Serbia has been marked by incidents involving controversial figures and allegations of systemic misconduct. During Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) rallies, Milan Radoičić, a businessman subject to an Interpol arrest warrant related to the 2023 Banjska conflict, appeared at a gathering in Kragujevac. Concurrently, in Zrenjanin, police detained members of the Movement of United Phantoms (PUF) during an SNS rally.

Further allegations have emerged regarding organized political violence and electoral interference. An SNS activist, Momčilo Marjanović, testified that groups were hired to protect party interests, provoke police, and infiltrate student protests to create chaos. Marjanović claimed that during protests in March 2025, approximately 100 individuals were seen carrying revolvers in Pionirski Park. Additionally, he alleged the existence of vote-buying schemes where individuals were paid between 100 and 500 euros per vote to influence electoral outcomes.
