SNS seeks cooperation with Republika party for regional elections

The SNS political party has expressed interest in negotiating cooperation with the extra-parliamentary movement Republika ahead of the upcoming regional and municipal elections on October 24. The SNS leadership has authorized party chairman Andrej Danko to enter talks with Republika leader Milan Uhrík regarding potential support for candidates in various regions.

A proposed exchange of support includes SNS backing Republika Vice-Chairman Milan Mazurek for the head of the Prešov Self-Governing Region, in exchange for Republika supporting SNS Member of Parliament Adam Lučanský for the Žilina Self-Governing Region. Additionally, SNS has indicated willingness to support Zuzana Uhríková in her candidacy for the mayor of Nitra.

SNS leadership emphasized that these regional elections should serve as a signal for uniting national forces, suggesting that cooperation in local elections could potentially extend to future parliamentary elections. The party also noted it is forming coalitions with Smer-SD and Hlas-SD for the upcoming elections.
