São Caetano Chamber launches investigation into Councilman Getulinho

The São Caetano Chamber of Deputies has established a processing commission to investigate Councilman Getúlio de Carvalho Filho, known as Getulinho (União Brasil). The decision was reached with 19 votes in favor and two against.

The investigation follows a 70-page complaint filed by former chief of staff Wilson Russo Piotto and municipal employee Geová Ferreira de Oliveira Braz. The allegations include abuse of prerogative, violation of the fundamental rights of patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU), and failure to observe biosafety protocols, which reportedly endangered public health.

If the investigation confirms the infractions, the councilman faces the loss of his mandate and potential suspension of political rights for up to eight years. A three-person working group has 90 days to present a report on the alleged political-administrative infractions.
