São Luís reports growth in tourism and hotel occupancy

São Luís, the capital of Maranhão, has reported significant growth in its tourism sector for July 2026. According to technical reports from the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 84.90%, a 0.56% increase compared to July 2025.

Key hospitality indicators also showed upward trends. The average length of stay for visitors increased from 1.93 days to 2.37 days, while the average daily rate rose from R$ 365.42 to R$ 367.94.

Municipal Secretary of Tourism Saulo Santos stated that these results reflect integrated planning and continuous investment in the promotion of the city's culture, heritage, and gastronomy. The data collected via the Hotel Occupancy Bulletin is used to guide public policies and strategic actions to strengthen the local tourism economy.
