São Paulo advances Ayrton Senna road toll system and kartodrome concession proposals

The Rodovia Ayrton Senna, a major highway linking São Paulo to the Vale do Paraíba and Serra da Mantiqueira, operates a toll system managed by private concessionaires. Fees vary by vehicle class and are intended to fund road maintenance, safety upgrades and future expansions.

The São Paulo municipal government has opened a public consultation on the concession of the Kartódromo Ayrton Senna. The 15‑year contract would require the private operator to invest R$22.5 million in upgrades and cover R$57.7 million in operational costs, with performance monitoring and revenue‑share payments to the city. Comments are accepted until 13 July 2026, followed by a virtual hearing on 1 July 2026.
