São Paulo wins first Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino title
São Paulo secured its first title in the current model of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino A1, following a 1-1 draw against Corinthians at the Morumbis stadium on October 3, 2026. Having won the first leg 2-1, São Paulo finished the final with a 3-2 aggregate score, ending Corinthians' streak of six consecutive titles.
The match set a new South American record for attendance in a women's club game, with 49,405 spectators present. Bia Menezes opened the scoring for São Paulo in the 10th minute, but Corinthians equalized through Juliete after a mistake by goalkeeper Carlinha. Carlinha later redeemed herself by saving a penalty taken by Gabi Zanotti in the second half, ensuring the championship.
While the victory is considered the first under the current competition format established in 2013, historical records note that São Paulo also won the inaugural national championship in 1997. The title also guarantees São Paulo a spot in the 2027 Libertadores Feminina.
