São Paulo expands adult education and state internship opportunities

The São Paulo municipal government launched the "Voltar pra escola é pra já!" campaign to promote Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA). The program offers free schooling for people aged 15 or older who have not completed elementary education, with flexible schedules—including night classes and modular formats—and benefits such as student transit passes and zero‑fare travel. Promotion is being carried out through open‑TV, digital ads, radio and displays in stadiums, and enrollment can be done online or at municipal schools year‑round with required ID, address proof and prior schooling documents.

The São Paulo state education department continued registrations for its Bolsa Estágio Ensino Médio (BEEM) internship scheme, which has already placed almost 17,000 technical‑high‑school students in jobs. The initiative targets students aged 16+ in technical courses, requiring enrollment in the second or third year, at least 85% attendance and completion of the previous year’s state exam. Administration accounts for 63% of the hires, followed by sales, logistics and agribusiness. Interns receive a stipend paid by the state for six months and are covered by personal accident insurance.
