São Paulo expands online public services through Poupatempo and municipal digital platforms

The São Paulo state’s Poupatempo digital portal now offers more than 4,000 online services, allowing citizens to obtain instant criminal‑background certificates, settle Sabesp water‑bill debts, check protest records in real time, and contest traffic‑fine penalties without visiting a physical office.

Municipalities in the state are also adopting the Doc+ Simples system from govtech firm OM30. Six cities – Mauá, Caieiras, Cotia, Guarulhos, Arujá and Jales – have implemented the electronic protocol that digitizes entire administrative processes, cutting paper use and speeding up tasks such as the concession of shopping‑center boxes, which previously required multiple in‑person steps.
