São Paulo honors 1,000 teachers with inaugural award

The Government of São Paulo held the first 'Prêmio Professor Nota 1.000' ceremony to honor 1,000 educators from the state school system. This award serves as the final stage of the 'Prêmio Professor Nota 10', which previously recognized 25,000 teachers across the state.

Selection for the top 1,000 honors was based on specific performance metrics, including classroom attendance, teacher evaluations, and student scores on the Saresp (State System of School Performance Assessment). Regional highlights include 133 recognized teachers from the Campinas area and 19 from the Carapicuíba regional teaching unit, which includes three teachers from Cotia.

In addition to the awards, the State Secretariat of Education has allocated R$ 1 billion in bonuses to over 188,000 teachers based on Saresp results.
