São Paulo libraries host literary events and storytelling programs

Public libraries in the state of São Paulo are hosting various literary events to encourage reading and cultural engagement.

In Guarulhos, municipal libraries are organizing free Reading Club meetings on August 28 and 29. These sessions focus on the work ‘Tarde’ by Parnassian poet Olavo Bilac, exploring themes of maturity and the passage of time. The meetings will take place at the Monteiro Lobato Library and the Cidade Seródio Library.

Additionally, the 18th edition of the ‘Viagem Literária’ program is entering its final week of free storytelling sessions across 66 cities in the state of São Paulo. Organized by the State Secretariat of Culture, Economy, and Creative Industries through the State Library System (SisEB) and executed by SP Leituras, the program features various artists and groups. These performances, aimed primarily at children and families, include narratives inspired by folk tales, Afro-Brazilian traditions, and children's literature.
