São Paulo opens audiovisual project applications

Independent production companies based in the state of São Paulo have until November 3 to apply for an audiovisual project selection program. Organized by the Secretariat of Culture, Economy, and Creative Industry in partnership with the National Cinema Agency (ANCINE), the initiative aims to support the development of films and series.

A total of 13 projects will be selected across two categories. The National Production category will select seven feature-length projects—six for fiction or animation and one dedicated exclusively to animation—with each receiving R$ 4 million. The International Partnerships category will select six projects for international co-productions involving fiction, animation, or documentaries, with each receiving R$ 2 million.

Applications are free and must be submitted via the Fomento CultSP platform. To qualify, companies must be independent Brazilian producers with a regular ANCINE registration and a headquarters in São Paulo for at least two years. The selected works must be capable of receiving the Brazilian Product Certificate. The program is funded by the Audiovisual Sectoral Fund (FSA).
