São Paulo police investigate two separate homicide cases
Authorities in São Paulo are investigating two distinct homicide cases discovered in the city's central region.
On November 5, a man in a wheelchair, identified as Emerson de Moraes Marcos Chaves, was found dead on Rua Senador Feijó. According to the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), the victim suffered cuts to his throat and groin, as well as facial injuries caused by stones. Police have ruled out natural or accidental death, and the case is being investigated as a homicide by an unknown perpetrator.
In a separate incident, a body was found tied and covered inside a shopping cart under the Jaceguai Viaduct on Avenida 23 de Maio. While this discovery brings the total number of bodies found in the Greater São Paulo area to 21 since September 5, investigators stated they do not believe there is a connection between this case and previous discoveries. Police noted that recent deaths in the region have involved various motives, including drug trafficking debts and organized crime, but they are treating these as unrelated events.
