São Paulo police recover Mercedes stolen in Morumbi mansion robbery

Police in São Paulo have recovered a Mercedes-Benz C 180 that was stolen during a major armed robbery in the Morumbi region on September 6. During the incident, a gang of ten armed individuals held a family hostage for approximately one hour.

The vehicle was located on September 14 in a residence in Real Parque, which was being used as a chop shop. Police arrested 37-year-old James de Abreu Silva at the scene, where the car was being dismantled. The gang also stole various high-value items, including watches, electronics, and jewelry, with total losses estimated at R$ 150,000.

While Silva was taken into custody for receiving stolen goods and vehicle tampering, the ten suspects involved in the initial mansion robbery remain at large.
