São Paulo rail passengers can access discounted fares via Cartão Fidelidade

Passengers using only rail transport in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region can reduce their travel costs through the Cartão Fidelidade. Offered by the Secretaria dos Transportes Metropolitanos via CPTM and Metrô, the program allows for the advance purchase of travel credits with progressive discounts based on the quantity acquired.

There are currently three recharge options: 8, 20, or 50 trips. The 8-trip package costs R$ 40 (R$ 5.00 per trip), the 20-trip package costs R$ 97.20 (R$ 4.86 per trip), and the 50-trip package costs R$ 234 (R$ 4.68 per trip). The maximum savings reach R$ 0.72 per trip compared to the standard R$ 5.40 fare.

A key limitation of the benefit is that it does not offer fare integration with buses; it is designed exclusively for those who use only metro and train lines. Additionally, there is a one-time R$ 2 fee for card issuance. Applications can be made at the Posto Fidelidade de Atendimento at Sé station or the SPTrans Service Center.
