São Paulo rail stations add vaccination sites and test Pix payments
The TIC Trens program expanded a vaccination drive to three stations on the Line 7‑Rubi of São Paulo's commuter rail network, offering influenza, yellow‑fever and measles‑mumps‑rubella shots to passengers and nearby residents between 8 June and 30 June 2026.
CPTM began a pilot allowing riders to pay fares with Brazil's Pix instant‑payment system at ten stations, including Palmeiras‑Barra Funda and Aeroporto‑Guarulhos. Tests run until 12 June, after which the rail‑ticket association will assess broader rollout. CPTM president Michael Cerqueira said, “After consolidating NFC payments across the system, testing Pix reinforces CPTM's role as an inducer of technological innovation in urban mobility.”
