São Paulo Regional Games: Marília and Limeira rack up dozens of medals

The 68th edition of the Regional Games for the 7th Sports Region of São Paulo concluded with strong performances from the cities of Marília and Limeira. Marília finished second overall in both the men’s and women’s standings, collecting a total of 43 medals – 11 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze – across swimming, karate, basketball 3×3, tennis, judo and volleyball. The city also secured podium finishes in other disciplines such as handball and football during the final days of competition.

Limeira earned two gold medals, winning the women's field tennis title and the women’s futsal championship. The team added a silver in the women’s relay swimming events and gathered several bronze medals in swimming and table‑tennis. With 191 points, Limeira placed second overall behind Indaiatuba in the overall standings.

Both municipalities highlighted the breadth of athletic talent in the state, with young athletes achieving notable results in senior categories and the event serving as a showcase for regional sport development.
