Soacha installs 10,713 LED luminaires to modernize public lighting
The municipality of Soacha is advancing its public lighting modernization project, having installed 10,713 LED luminaires to date. The initiative, managed by Tyguasa, aims to replace outdated sodium-based lighting with more efficient LED technology to improve street safety and reduce public lighting tariffs for residents.
Of the total units installed, 9,680 serve as replacements for existing equipment, while 1,033 represent expansions into previously unlit areas. The project has completed interventions in communes 4 and 5, with work in commune 3 nearing completion. Ongoing operations are active in commune 1, with additional installations recorded in communes 2, 6, and rural sectors.
The project has generated direct employment for 63 people, including technicians, assistants, and administrative staff. The ultimate goal is to modernize the city's entire registered network of 19,686 luminaires.
