Municipal public lighting infrastructure upgrades
Overview
Various municipalities in Peru, Spain, and Colombia are implementing infrastructure projects to modernize public lighting through LED and solar technology.
In Peru, the Canchaque district saw the installation of 88 LED luminaires to replace sodium vapor and low-power equipment, intended to improve safety during local festivities. In Spain, the Estepona City Council began a 560,000-euro plan to install 465 luminaires, including 325 solar-powered units designed for rural areas without grid access.
In Soacha, Colombia, a large-scale modernization project managed by Tyguasa has installed 10,713 LED luminaires. This initiative includes both the replacement of outdated sodium-based lighting and the expansion of service to previously unlit areas, with the long-term goal of updating the city’s entire network of 19,686 luminaires.
