Sobradinho police arrest seven for cattle theft and drug trafficking

The Civil Police of Sobradinho arrested seven individuals—five men and two women—in a recent operation targeting cattle theft (abigeato) and drug trafficking. The investigation began after a landowner reported finding the warm viscera of two slaughtered bovines in Linha Tupi.

During the operation, coordinated by Delegate Graciela Foresti Chagas, police intercepted a vehicle containing raw meat, drugs, and money. Other suspects were located at a residence on Estrada da Linha Carijinho, where they were reportedly processing the stolen meat.

The suspects originate from various locations, including Rio Pardo, Vera Cruz, Cachoeirinha, and Sobradinho. Some of the men arrested have prior criminal records for robbery, drug trafficking, and homicide. The five men will be transferred to the Sobradinho State Prison, while the two women will be held at the Rio Pardo State Prison.
