Serbia political parties finalize election coalitions
As Serbia prepares for extraordinary parliamentary elections on October 25, political parties and movements are finalizing their coalition strategies.
The Studentski pokret (Student Movement) has announced a gathering in Novi Sad to present its campaign program and list. Several opposition groups have signaled support for this student-led list. The Democratic Party (DS) has explicitly endorsed the students, stating that a vote for the student list is a vote against the current regime. Similarly, the Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) has decided not to run independently due to the failure to form a unified opposition list; instead, they will support the student movement.
Other political shifts include the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), which has decided to run in a coalition with Jedinstvena Srbija, the Social Democratic Party of Serbia, and Zeleni Srbije. The SPS is also managing internal restructuring following the exclusion of Branko Ružić and several resignations within its Main Board. Additionally, the Civil Movement Solidarnost has confirmed it will run on a joint list with the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) and Serbia Center (SRCE).
