Sociedad Rural Argentina candidate challenges Nicolás Pino's leadership

José Enrique García Enciso, a candidate for alternate member on the Renovación con Unidad list for the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) elections, has called for the strict observance of the organization's statutes. Representing the list led by Marcos Pereda, García Enciso is challenging the potential re-election of current president Nicolás Pino.

García Enciso highlighted a 2020 agreement between factions supporting both Pino and Pereda. According to the candidate, this formal document stipulated that Pino would assume the presidency in September 2020 and transfer leadership to Pereda in September 2026. He criticized attempts to extend the current mandate, suggesting that the administration has prioritized interests other than those of the primary producers.

The Renovación con Unidad platform aims to refocus the SRA on the needs of rural producers, whom García Enciso describes as being in the 'trenches.' He argued that the institution's resources and assets should be managed to benefit the producers who sustain the entity through their work and membership fees.
