Sociologist Remus Ștefureac warns AUR’s vote share is closing in on PSD, PNL and USR combined
Remus Ștefureac, director of the INSCOP research institute, said the radical populist party AUR is gaining electoral support and is now approaching the total vote share of Romania’s three main parties – the Social Democratic Party (PSD), the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Save Romania Union (USR). He described AUR’s strategy as coherent and noted that the other parties are locked in an “absurd war” that benefits the newcomer. Ștefureac, who previously warned that AUR could become the main winner of any snap election, stressed that the rise is driven by legitimate public frustration and anger, not by fabricated poll numbers. He called for political reason to prevail and for a government focused on economic development and equitable resource distribution.
