Acre politics: Governor Assis addresses investigations as campaigns intensify

Political activity in Acre is marked by gubernatorial transitions and election campaigning. Governor Mailza Assis is working to distinguish her administration from investigations into the previous government led by Gladson Cameli. Assis maintains that while she served as vice-governor, she was not responsible for the administrative decisions currently under investigation.

Meanwhile, gubernatorial candidate Alan Rick is campaigning in Rio Branco, emphasizing a platform of planned management. His priorities include improvements in basic sanitation, the regionalization of public services, and strengthening health and education sectors.

In the federal legislature, Deputy Socorro Neri is focusing on education rights. Her legislative agenda includes recovering service time frozen during the pandemic for public servants and advocating for a national minimum wage for basic education support staff, such as school cooks and security guards.
