Sofia infrastructure projects begin for Terminal 3 and new metro station

Sofia is advancing several major transportation infrastructure projects. SOF Connect, the operator of Vasil Levski Airport Sofia, has officially launched preparatory construction activities for the future Terminal 3. This initial phase involves an investment exceeding 7 million euros and includes the construction of a new transport center, the reconstruction of the area in front of Terminal 2, and the relocation of existing underground infrastructure to create a technical foundation for the terminal.

Simultaneously, construction is nearing completion on the new Pancho Vladigerov metro station, with approximately 90% of the gross construction already finished. The station is designed to serve as a terminal for both Metro Lines 1 and 2, allowing for transfers at the platform level. The project is intended to function as a large-scale intermodal transport hub, integrating metro services with future railway and bus station developments. The station is expected to welcome passengers in the summer of 2027.
