Sofija Mandić warns of irregular Serbian elections

Sofija Mandić, a member of the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) and executive director of the Center for Judicial Research, has stated that the elections scheduled for October 25 will be irregular regardless of the winner. Mandić argued that the process is compromised by institutions and media controlled by a single party or coalition, which she claims facilitates electoral theft.

Mandić noted that while it is difficult to label the results as stolen based solely on preliminary figures, the underlying process remains flawed. She raised concerns regarding the Narodna Srbija (NPS-NLS-EU) coalition, which announced it would not participate in the elections despite having submitted the necessary signatures to be officially declared a candidate list. This has caused confusion, as the list remains in the race until the October 9 deadline for withdrawal, potentially affecting the ballot order for other candidates.
