SOFOFA and USEC launch employability program for prisoners in Chile
SOFOFA and the Unión Social de Empresarios Cristianos (USEC) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote employability for incarcerated individuals and former prisoners in Chile. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between the prison system and the labor market by providing training, work experience, and formal employment opportunities.
A pilot program will be implemented in the Biobío region as part of a broader penitentiary employability plan. This effort follows a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice and SOFOFA, which seeks to increase private sector involvement in social reintegration processes.
