SOFOFA discusses labor flexibility to boost employment in Chile
In Chile, the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (SOFOFA) held its second 'Trabajo 3x3' seminar to discuss pro-employment regulations and labor flexibility. The initiative aims to create 500,000 jobs over three years by addressing investment, regulation, and education.
During the session, SOFOFA President Rosario Navarro emphasized that flexibility should not be confused with precariousness. The discussion focused on updating labor laws to reflect modern realities, particularly to combat high unemployment rates among youth and women. SOFOFA proposed exploring hourly contracts to help individuals balance work and study.
