Sogesid exceeds PNRR flood‑risk target in Emilia‑Romagna, Tuscany, Marche

Italian state engineering company Sogesid announced that it has completed 317 interventions aimed at managing flood risk and reducing hydraulic and hydro‑geological hazards in the regions affected by the 2023 floods – Emilia‑Romagna, Tuscany and Marche. The work was finished by 30 June, well above the 190 interventions set as the target in the EU‑backed National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The interventions include restoration of road infrastructure and safety works on riverbeds. President Silvia Paparella said the achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration between institutions, adding that the extraordinary commissioner Fabrizio Curcio and the supervisory structure provided authoritative guidance and constant coordination. She highlighted the role of Sogesid as a state engineering entity that contributed technical expertise and project‑management capacity to meet the PNRR objectives and improve the safety and resilience of the territories.
