Sohail Afridi announces September 27 long march to Islamabad

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced a long march to Islamabad scheduled for September 27. Afridi claims that more than two million youths will participate in the protest, which aims to challenge what he described as “unconstitutional” measures in the country.

The Chief Minister stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) alliance are in agreement regarding the date. He dismissed allegations of a secret deal regarding the scheduling, calling such claims attempts to mislead the public.

Afridi noted that the protest would be funded by the party’s own resources rather than state machinery. While Islamabad is the primary destination, the march may also include stops in Rawalpindi and Adiala Jail. He expressed confidence that the passion of the youth would make the movement difficult for the government to contain.
