Sohail Afridi offers negotiations to federal government ahead of PTI long march
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has offered to enter negotiations with the federal government to resolve political issues before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march. Speaking to journalists in Peshawar, Afridi stated that the government has a seven-day window to seek a resolution through dialogue and mutual understanding rather than protest.
Afridi claimed that central rulers are obstructing efforts to resolve matters between himself and the establishment. He also suggested that the current political landscape is being driven by a single individual, specifically naming Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as a representative of that policy.
In a separate development, PTI leadership is expected to make a major announcement regarding the scheduled long march. While originally planned for September 27, reports indicate the party is considering postponing the march to early October, with some members suggesting a timeframe between October 4 and October 10. The party is also exploring the possibility of convening an All Parties Conference (APC) in early October and is maintaining contact with other political entities, including the JUI-F and the PPP.
