Sokoine University of Agriculture partners with industry leaders to boost graduate employability

Leaders from various companies met with the administration of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) to discuss collaboration and preparing students and graduates for the labor market. The forum aimed to bridge the gap between academic training and industry requirements by providing students with practical experience through various projects and business activities.

Professor Mulid Mwatawala, the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance, Planning, and Administration, emphasized that cooperation between the university, its graduates, and the private sector is essential for ensuring students acquire skills relevant to real-world work environments. He urged industry leaders to mentor students in designing and managing innovative projects from conception to market.

Nsolo Mlozi, Head of Agribusiness at NMB Bank, announced that the bank has allocated 20 billion Tanzanian shillings to support startup projects for youth and special interest groups. He noted that supporting these initiatives helps drive the national economy while providing graduates with practical experience in production and business operations.
