SOKON Algeria prepares to launch truck assembly in Batna
The SOKON Algeria complex in the Zana El Beida commune of Batna is prepared to begin truck assembly, with the first vehicle expected to roll off the line in January. The project represents an investment of 9.8 billion DA.
Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI), announced that preparations include the recruitment of 450 qualified workers trained in coordination with the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education. The project is expected to generate 1,800 direct jobs and 4,200 indirect jobs, while stimulating local subcontracting.
The complex includes three assembly units for buses and trucks of the Chinese brand. Local authorities are working to provide land for subcontracting projects to increase the integration rate within the region.
