Sokoto security adviser urges political unity against banditry

Col. Ahmed Usman (Rtd.), the Special Adviser on Security Matters to Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, has called on political leaders to set aside partisan differences to combat banditry in the state.

Responding to recent criticisms from opposition politicians regarding the security situation, Usman emphasized that attackers do not discriminate based on political affiliation. He stated, “Bandits have no political party. They do not ask whether their victims are APC, PDP or members of any other party before they attack.”

While acknowledging the right of opposition members to criticize government policy, Usman urged stakeholders to ensure their contributions are constructive. He specifically commended Senator Aliyu Wamakko for his efforts in supporting victims and mobilizing institutions to find solutions to the security crisis.
