SOLAAL launches 12th National Agricultural Donation Days in France

The association SOLAAL has launched the 12th edition of the National Agricultural Donation Days (JNDA), running throughout the month of September 2026. Held under the patronage of the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, the initiative encourages farmers, cooperatives, food companies, and wholesalers to donate surplus fresh products to food aid associations.

The campaign aims to address two critical issues in France: food insecurity affecting approximately 7 million people and the annual waste of nearly 9.7 million tonnes of food. SOLAAL reports that 96% of the products collected are fresh and local.

More than 40 actions are already scheduled across France's 12 regional branches, including solidarity gleaning in fields, donation chains at wholesale markets, and awareness workshops. The 2025 campaign previously distributed the equivalent of 1.3 million meals.
