Solana opens new office and launches advertising in Shanghai

The Solana Foundation has established a new office in Shanghai, China, located in the Shanghai Tower within the Lujiazui financial district. This move has drawn significant attention due to China’s long-standing restrictions on cryptocurrency transactions and digital assets.

In addition to opening a physical presence, Solana has engaged in brand promotion through light shows on the Citibank Tower in Lujiazui. The foundation also announced the ‘Solana Accelerate China’ event series, scheduled for October in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing, which aims to connect developers and the local technology ecosystem.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao expressed surprise at Solana’s ability to advertise and secure office space in China, noting that BNB Chain has not achieved similar market entry. While some social media reports suggest certain promotional videos have been removed from platforms like Douyin, the expansion appears to focus on technology and AI partnerships rather than direct token speculation.
