Solar activity forecasts predict geomagnetic storms in September

Geomagnetic activity is expected to fluctuate throughout September, with several periods of increased activity forecasted. While the beginning of the month is expected to remain calm, potential disturbances are possible on September 4 and 5.

More significant activity is predicted between September 10 and 12, which may be one of the most unsettled periods of the month. A second wave of increased geomagnetic activity is also possible between September 25 and 28.

Data from the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center indicates that for the immediate period around September 1, conditions are expected to remain calm with low Kp index values, well below the G1 category threshold.

Stronger geomagnetic storms can cause disruptions to radio communications, satellite navigation, and spacecraft operations. While some individuals report physical symptoms like headaches or fatigue during such events, these reports are considered non-specific.
