Solar and Storage Projects Secure Over $1 bn in US and India Financing

Sunraycer Renewables closed a $901 million project‑finance facility to build three solar‑plus‑battery projects in Texas, delivering 479.5 MW of solar capacity and 236.5 MW of two‑hour storage. The loan was syndicated by MUFG Bank, Ally Bank, Nomura, Landesbank and Société Générale.

Other recent clean‑energy financing includes an €89.4 million (≈$105 million) refinancing of Italy’s STAR I solar portfolio, a ₹7 billion (≈$73 million) refinancing for a 250 MW solar portfolio in Maharashtra, India, Enel Green Power’s acquisition of seven operational solar farms (≈270 MW) in Virginia, North and South Carolina, and the purchase of a 187 MW Taiwanese solar portfolio by J&V Energy Technology.

In India, fintech‑focused NBFC Solfin Sustainable Finance raised ₹280 crore (≈$3.4 million) and posted its first profit, positioning its digital platform to faster‑track loan approvals for residential and commercial solar projects across Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 markets. The new capital will back AI‑driven credit models, geographic expansion and new green‑financing products, aiming to remove financing friction from India’s push toward 500 GW of non‑fossil capacity by 2030.
