Spain celebrates astronomical events and inclusive science successes
Recent astronomical events and cultural programs have highlighted scientific accessibility and celestial phenomena. In Spain, the Cuenca Eclipse cultural cycle concluded successfully, drawing over 13,600 attendees to thirteen musical performances across various municipalities in the Cuenca province.
In the realm of scientific innovation, the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC) reported the success of the 'Eclipse Inclusivo' project. Using 'Lightsound' devices developed by Harvard University, more than 50 individuals with visual impairments were able to experience the solar eclipse by converting light into sound.
Looking ahead, a partial lunar eclipse is expected on the morning of August 28, 2026. This phenomenon will be visible across Spain, with approximately 93.2% of the lunar disk entering Earth's shadow, potentially creating a reddish hue known as a 'Blood Moon'.
