Solar energy projects in Mexico and Spain expand with battery storage
Greendat Capital is planning the San Joaquín photovoltaic solar plant in Galeana, Nuevo León. The project is expected to have a peak power of 125.99 MWdc and will include a battery energy storage system (BESS) with 30 MW of power and 90 MWh of capacity.
In Spain, Ieron Solar SLU is moving forward with a project to add energy storage to its existing Ieron photovoltaic plant in Montánchez. The expansion, valued at over 7 million euros, involves installing ten battery containers. This new BESS Ieron system is designed to provide 11 MW of power and 62.5 MWh of storage capacity, converting the facility into a hybrid installation.
