Solar park construction begins in San Carlos Centro, Argentina
The municipality of San Carlos Centro in Santa Fe province, Argentina, is moving ahead with a large photovoltaic park. The project, led by the private firm Industrias Juan F. Secco, will cover about 350 hectares on land unsuitable for farming due to flood risk.
The plant is slated to have a capacity of around 150 MW and will be linked to the national grid through a new 132‑kV substation that will connect to the San Carlos Centro‑María Juana high‑voltage line of the Provincial Energy Company (EPE). Authorization to operate as a generator in the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) was granted by the national Energy Secretariat's Resolution 120/2026.
Mayor Juan José Placenzotti said construction is expected to last roughly two years, with pre‑installation work beginning in the coming months. The project emphasizes local hiring and supplier contracts, aiming to create jobs and boost the regional economy.
