Soledad de Graciano Sánchez announces Day of the Dead festivities

The municipal government of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez has organized a series of free cultural and artistic activities to celebrate Day of the Dead and preserve local traditions. The agenda, managed by the Department of Tourism and Culture, includes Xantolo activities starting October 16 and 17, featuring the exhibition ‘Entre Catrinas y Eternidades’ by Edu Morales.

Key events include a monumental altar installation, altar exhibitions, free cinema, and a traditional Zombie March scheduled for October 31 in the Main Plaza. Officials expect approximately 3,000 participants for the march, which will offer cash prizes for children and open categories. Other scheduled events include a special remastered screening of ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ and a free Xantolo mask-making course.

Rural areas such as Palma de la Cruz will host parades, costume contests, and comparsas involving educational institutions. Additionally, a municipal comparsa consisting of approximately 70 participants will perform in the Main Plaza on October 23 and participate in the Xantolo parade on October 25.
