Day of the Dead and Samaín cultural celebrations

Overview

Cultural preparations for Day of the Dead and Samaín festivities are underway across Mexico and Spain. In Mexico, celebrations include Xantolo in San Luis Potosí and Huejutla, featuring traditional masks, music, and dance. Other regional activities involve culinary fairs in Mérida, cultural performances in Zacatecas and Huamantla, and various themed experiences in Mexico City and the Riviera Maya.

In the municipality of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, local authorities have announced a schedule of free cultural activities to preserve traditions. These include the ‘Entre Catrinas y Eternidades’ exhibition, monumental altar installations, and mask-making courses. The planned festivities also feature a traditional Zombie March in the Main Plaza and parades in rural areas such as Palma de la Cruz.
