Soledad de Graciano Sánchez launches sister‑city program with Tlaxcala and adds student scholarships

The municipal government of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, is strengthening both cultural heritage and education. It is pursuing a sister‑city (hermanamiento) relationship with municipalities in the state of Tlaxcala to research the origins of local families, promote cultural exchange, tourism and produce a publication on family expansion from the 17th to 20th centuries.

At the same time, the municipal Education and Civic Action Directorate has secured agreements with several higher‑education institutions—including Universidad Tecnológica, Universidad José Vasconcelos, Prepa Vasconcelos, ITM and Instituto Panamericano—to offer discounts, scholarships, free enrollment and low‑cost English and computing courses for local students, with municipal assistance for applications. Both initiatives reflect Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz’s policy of close government, preserving history and expanding opportunities for youth.
