Soledad, Mexico ramps up cleanup and water disinfection after heavy rains
Following intense rainstorms that flooded parts of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez in the state of San Luis Potosí, the municipal government intensified cleaning of streets, parks, and green spaces. Crews under Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz swept debris, removed vegetation, and pruned trees to restore public areas and prevent hazards.
The municipal civil‑protection team also extracted contaminated water from flooded cisterns and aljibes, providing chlorine tablets and disinfection instructions to affected families. These actions aim to protect public health and demonstrate the administration’s commitment to rapid, localized response after the rains.
